Endoscopy Guidance Group of New Zealand (EGGNZ)
Background
Endoscopy Guidance Group for New Zealand (formerly a Governance Group) was funded by the Ministry of Health to provide clinical oversight and guidance to the National Endoscopy Quality Improvement Programme (NEQIP) team, as it embedded the New Zealand Global Rating Scale Standards into all publicly funded endoscopy units in New Zealand.
Group restructure
The role and function of EGGNZ transitioned to an advisory capacity from 1 July 2021. The revised advisory group structure is comprised of two committees: An Advisory Committee to the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP); and a Steering Committee to advise on wider endoscopy related matters.
Membership of the Advisory Committee provides automatic membership of the Steering Committee which includes five additional members (see drop down box 2: Steering Committee).
These two committees bring together an appropriate range of relevant experience in relation to provision and performance of quality colonoscopy in New Zealand.
Advisory Committee Membership
Core membership includes one member from each of the following groups or roles. Additional members may be co-opted to provide advice and expertise on specific pieces of work to ensure all perspectives are represented.
